RainTV and the ActiveRain Lounge @ Inman Real Estate Connect

Recently, as many of you know, I had the privelege to interview a fascinating group of people, Rainers and non-Rainers alike, for RainTV at Real Estate Connect in early August. Here's a link to the blog post I wrote for ActiveRain and the three videos that are up and running (we have tons more coming!)

Introducing RainTV

RainTV--Hugh MacLeod of GapingVoid, Keynote Speaker and Inman Real Estate Connect

Hugh, you are fantastic! You never miss a beat. You mentioned "Real Estate Porn" in your Keynote address, I forgot to ask you about that. People either adore you or are appalled by you (balls out after all). You're right up there for me.

RainTV--Lockhart Steele, Founder of Curbed Real Estate Blog

Lockhart, Curbed is a kick! Your stellar real estate blog makes me salivate. Are you sure you won't let an in-love-with-real-estate Realtor like me pen some of your articles? My altruistic side's pretty high, but mainly I just like to write about what's going on (especially in Bellevue). I'd love to catch up with you any time.

RainTV--Glenn Kelman, CEO of Redfin

Glenn, you have nerves of steel and an incredible entrepreneurial streak to boot. Anytime someone challenges the status quo the throngs of mad crowds descend upon them. Finally someone who treats people like the intelligent beings that they are! You are making the real estate industry stronger, though many don't know it yet.

Those were interesting interviews.  I was a little surprised to hear that the Redfin business plan was to break even sometime next year.  They must have done a good job of attracting investors.

Hi Randy! Thank goodness my own business footprint is a little bit smaller... but I imagine both of us have braved the "barrier to entry"  and "learning curve" years getting into this industry (in the former case, our own barrier being us!) The true entrepreneur knows that just when the wrinkles get ironed out it starts to get boring... Thus the stepping out on the precipice again..
